Tim Cullen & Tobie Allen - Longhaul  -  01 Jun 2011

BS001 - Tim Cullen & Tobie Allen - Longhaul

Coming hard on the heels of the cheeky surprise success of Tim Cullen's and Tobie Allen's Buckle Up, Bootleg Social could not have asked for a better track to launch a label with. As promoters Bootleg Social has gained a reputation for crowd pleasing, up for it carnage and so their debut track as a lot to live up to. And it does, a driving infectious beat that creeps in, lulling you into a false sense of security, before it lets rip with that that big room, uplifting crescendo of momentum that has become synonymous with the Bootleg Social Crew. Then once you hooked, it never lets up, setting up funky, chunky melodies directly against an energetic incessant rhythm, creating the kind of love hate relationship that dance floor classics are made off.

Handing the remixing reigns to stylish progressive tech producer Haley Parsons was a sonic masterstroke. Her atmospheric tech driven take on the big room sound sends you off on a complete new journey. Rolling baselines, vocal loops and edgy tech take the track closer, making it more intimate, exposing the soul that lies beneath. Together the tracks demonstrate the technical virtuosity and creative versatility that certainly position Bootleg Social as a label of the future.
